Mmmm....pears!
As promised here are some messy fruit pictures. They're actually pretty tame compared to what I'm sure our future holds as we start to feed him things like spaghetti and once he starts to feed himself. But they're still pretty cute and comical if you ask me :-)

Sitting, schreeching and spoons
Sitting on his own and happily schreeching at the top of his lungs are Aiden's two newest skills. The sitting thing is great because it means that he can happily entertain himself with a few toys for 10-15 minutes. Plus it really frees up your hands when he's sitting in your lap. The schreeching is just too funny. He's obviously testing out his vocal chords and loves the immediate response it gets from us as we check to see if it was an angry scream or a scream of delight.
We've also officially entered the world of solid foods. Rice cereal doesn't seem to agree with his system (at least for now) and the majority of what he ate would end up all over him and us later that night. Apples and pears have been a big hit though and they seem to be staying down just fine. He got the idea of the spoon pretty quickly and it's nearly impossible to shovel the food in without these two tiny, fruit covered fists immediately locking around the spoon in a death grip. As you might imagine, it's also pretty tough to wrench the now extremely slippery spoon out of his mouth and those fruit covered fists in order to get a new bite. I keep telling him he's got to let go soI can get him some more, that it's just how spoons work - he seems unimpressed with my reasoning. I've been doing the feeding and I'm generally the picture taker so I don't have any pictures of the hysterically fruit covered baby yet but I'll work on it. In the meantime here's a cute bedtime photo, hanging with Auntie Diane:
